Canaan Valley is a year-round playground and Monongahela offers numerous activities including boating, cross country skiing, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, biking, Civil War Tour, guides, picnicking and whitewater rafting to name a few.
Cathedral State Park is spectacular during the summer months. See the trees that reach up to 90 feet in height and 21 feet in circumference.
Seneca Caverns has spectacular natural formations and huge chambers providing magnificent views for visitors. Because of its astounding beauty, the caverns have earned the nickname "West Virginia's Underground Wonderland."
At the Dolly Sods Wilderness there are three areas to visit within "the Sods." Dolly Sods Wilderness is 10,215 acres crossed by primitive trails for serious hikers. The Scenic Area, the most accessible part, is beloved by sightseers and berry pickers. Flat Rock and Roaring Plains makeup the most remote section, with bogs, berries, rocky plains and trails like those in the wilderness.
Mountain Trail Rides is adjacent to Canaan Valley State Park on Freeland Road. Guided trail rides with spectacular views through wooded acres and open fields within the boundaries of the beautiful Canaan Valley State Park. Frequent wildlife sightings!
